In 1992, just after graduating from high school, Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology atAlaska Pacific University, Anchorage in Alaska. Bossard started her journey in the industry of commercial seafood in 1999. That year, she worked on Murat Aritan's 65 foot halibut boat, which was later converted into a fish tender. Bossard has been married to Aritan and they've joined together to assert their rights to the industry. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. In 2007, she became a mother to two kids Bella age 3 and Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia, opened a direct market wholesale distributor of seafood named Otolith. Its name is a sweet reminder of her intimate understanding of fish biology and her husband's lengthy involvement to the industry of seafood, often keeping them apart for 5 months or more as they work towards economic and environmental objectives that show their independence as well as commitment to their community wherever they call home.
